Review AI Caption Suggestions Without Changing the Spoken Claim

Caption editing involves both words and time. A sentence can be accurate in isolation yet appear before the speaker says it or remain on screen across a change of topic. Review the finished caption track with the actual media.

Work through an example

Start with an authorised short clip and preserve an untouched transcript. Ask the assistant to suggest readable line breaks without adding information or paraphrasing the speaker's factual claim. Mark uncertain words for review instead of accepting a plausible completion.

Play the clip and check names, numbers and negative statements. Then inspect whether a caption appears at the right moment and stays long enough to read in the intended viewing context. Do not claim the timing is tested when you have only inspected a text file.

Check the result

If shortening is required, distinguish a faithful caption from an edited on-screen summary. A summary may omit hesitation, but it should not turn a tentative statement into a certainty. Keep the speaker's meaning and relevant qualifications.

After exporting, open the actual delivered file or player. Check for clipped text, missing characters, overlaps and incorrect ordering. Keep the reviewed track with its corresponding media version so a later video edit does not leave the captions attached to the wrong moments.
